One week to go and so much to do!

Having done three trips this week I feel I am fitter than I have been since I was a teenager. However I am still nursing bruised ribs and whilst they don't affect the ride they cause me difficulty when I sleep (or not! As the case may be). I am going to work on short sharp rides, flexibility and sleeping this week.  So I shall be riding in circles up local hills, playing golf, tidying the allotment, eating well and avoiding caffeine and alcohol in the run up to the big off.  I shall also be packing and reminding people to sponsor me.

Remember I am doing this with and for Parkinson's so please dig deep if you can or just a little if you can't and donate via....  Http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/thomasphipps   Thank you

The sun is out and so am I

Managed a ride of 54m today at an ave speed of 13.4mph admittedly there were limited lumps and a yummy lunch courtesy of my Mum!! Yes folks I went to Weston Super Mare.  Headwind on way out but tailwind on way back, what a difference it makes as well.  Now two weeks and 2 days left so some serious preparationon body and  mind must now take place.  Shoulder still giving me Jip but hopefully the Osteopath and some Golf will help out.  Till the next Blog see ya.

Tough weekend ride

Last Saturday we did a fifty five mile ride to wells and back at an average sped of 12 mph climbed above 2000 ft in total and managed two thirds of ride with bruised ribs! Been to osteopath today and it is getting better already. Silly me  I didn't cross a kerb at right angles .  Once again I plead for sponsors.  H

Four weeks to go!

On September 5th at 7am we start our cycle ride to Paris from Blackheath Common. I am raising money for Parkinson's UK and as I have the condition I am extra motivated to finish the event.  Ben is coming with me as mutual support alongside Discover Adventure (the organisers).

Between now and then we have some serious work to do as well as improving our fitness, we have to get our kit together, sort out our nutritional needs and set up our blog.  I also have to tidy my allotment up and keep on top of the household chores.  Anyone fancy weeding or making plum Jam??
